THE BRIEF

A small business based in Far North Queensland reached out for a logo. Bluebottle Printing's mission is to share the natural beauty of the local landscapes in the form of stickers, magnets, pins and art prints. Based on their own photography and paintings of the region.

ITERATION

The initial sketches went through many forms before the right look came into focus.

Bouncing between which element of the brand to represent. Simple iconography of a printer, a cute mascot of the jellyfish, or minimalist depictions of the landscape.

In the end, the right call was to illustrate the natural world and frame it in a fun way. Creating a double meaning of the blue bottle name.

ICONOGRAPHY

The bluebottle jellyfish, a symbol of the tropical area, holds an iconic shape and free flowing form that glides across the water.

The rum bottle, often associated with sailors and freedom of the ocean.

The ocean waves and wide aspect ratio, indicative of the landscape photography found in the businesses products.

All come together to form a sense of free flowing freedom through the adventurous waves of Far North Queensland.
